A Boost Up
This experiment was done to find whether a relationship exists between the distance of wounding (point where fertilizer is given from) from soil level and the growth of the plants (measured by stem height). There were 35 plants in total, with one control and four treatments. Each trial per plant lasted 21 days.

My name is Aruni Jayatilaka. I am 15 years old, and was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka. My family came to Canada when I was 10 years old. My family consists of my father, mother, younger sister and brother. Currently, I am in grade 10, attending London Central secondary School. My hobbies mainly include reading, listening to music and drawing/painting. I can speak and read English and Sinhalese, and I am learning the languages French and Spanish at school. I also play two musical instruments: the piano and flute. Though I do not take music at school, I take these music lessons outside of school. I volunteer at the London Public Library and The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame. I received a medal from my high school this year for having an average above 85% in my marks in grade 9. I wish to go to a university to study after graduating for my post-secondary education.
