Scoring With Science

As a hockey player, the impact of hockey sticks intrigued me. I designed a controlled experiment with six different sticks that varied in the curve of the blade and how much the shaft flexed. I found that a shaft I could bend best, yielded the fastest wrist shots, however for slap shots, the mid-blade curve was the difference maker. I wanted to know why, and now that my hypothesis has been supported, I can tell you that a stick you are strong enough to flex coupled with a curve for your hockey position will be the best stick for you.
