Asion: An ML-powered Sky Navigation and Constellation Recognition System
London Central Secondary School
Asion (Ah-zhun) is a machine-learning (ml) powered sky navigation and constellation recognition system. Asion provides a way to navigate without the use of satellite navigation. Satellite navigation has physical risks such as signal interference, reliance on technology, and vulnerability to cyber attacks. However, celestial navigation only requires meticulous calculations. Asion semi-automated celestial navigation making it quick and reliable. Asion can classify constellations and provide interactive visibility graphs. Asion can also be used for much more than just navigation. This project aims to demonstrate the capabilities of celestial navigation with the use of technology and its potential impact on modern society.
