Real-time American Sign Language Interpreter

London Central Secondary School

My project is about a computer program that uses a webcam to see and understand the American Sign Language alphabet and turn it into text that you can read in real-time. The goal is to make it easier for people to understand sign language without having to learn it themselves.
It features a simple and intuitive user interface that does not require any prior instruction to use.
This can really help people communicate better with those who use sign language, making sure everyone can be included. Also, this software could be used in schools and workplaces as a learning tool get feedback on the readability of one’s signing.
