More Opportunities To Explore Your Passion for Science

Sanofi Biogenius Canada

Sanofi Biogenius Canada (SBC) is a national, biotechnology-focused science competition that exposes high school and CEGEP students to career possibilities and reveals the breadth of endeavour that makes up the bio-economy.
In London, we encourage students competing in the SBC to enter the Thames Valley Science & Engineering Fair as well. The Science Fair is a great warm up for the SBC, which is usually held a few weeks after the science fair.

WISE – Free University Course

The WISE program at Western University allows Grade 11 and 12 students to take a university course for free while they are still in high school.
Students must have a strong average each year in high school, have completed 22 credits and be a full time student to be eligible. Students can choose which course they would like to take provided they have the prerequisites.
They are able to enroll in a day, evening or distance studies course.
Applications will be available May 1 and are due by June 30.
“I just had my last class yesterday and I wanted to thank you so much for introducing me to the WISE program. It was a great preparation for University and I’m much more confident about next year’s courses and how to manage them. It was a lot of work, but it was also very interesting and I’m positive it will benefit my University experience. The future doesn’t seem quite so scary anymore.” – Hannah Badcock, Banting Secondary School Student, WISE participant 2011/12

Regional Science Fairs

There are over 100 Regional Science Fairs across Canada, so most students will be able to participate. Visit this web site to find your closest regional science fair.

Canada Wide Science Fair

The Canada Wide Science Fair is held in May in the week before the Victoria Day Holiday. About 450 finalists from the 102 Regional Science Fairs from Victoria BC to St Johns Newfoundland will attend. It is a life changing experience for some students, and friendships formed can last a lifetime. The Fair is held in a different city each year.

Intel International Science and Engineering Fair

Team Canada ISEF
In 2017, Canada will send up to eight students to attend the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, where 1700 finalists gather from 70 countries. We win more than our fare share of awards, that speaks to the ability of our Canadian students.
