Biography

My name is Aruni Jayatilaka. I am 15 years old, and was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka. My family came to Canada when I was 10 years old. My family consists of my father, mother, younger sister and brother. Currently, I am in grade 10, attending London Central secondary School. My hobbies mainly include reading, listening to music and drawing/painting. I can speak and read English and Sinhalese, and I am learning the languages French and Spanish at school. I also play two musical instruments: the piano and flute. Though I do not take music at school, I take these music lessons outside of school. I volunteer at the London Public Library and The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame. I received a medal from my high school this year for having an average above 85% in my marks in grade 9. I wish to go to a university to study after graduating for my post-secondary education.
